Frequently Asked Questions
How is the progress evaluated for each of the academic, devotion and personal goals completion? - Evaluation for each is calculated by taking the percentage of duration of completed goals divided by total duration of goals for the specified time frame. How are the data points gotten for the study graph? - data points for the study graph are gotten from daily academic goals marked as done. Why are some parts of the graph marked in red color? - Based on CMDA-S National Academic Board specifications, reading more than 9 hours or less than 2 hours in a day should be marked in red color. I made a mistake, How can I delete the data? - You can delete any data from the All Saved Data UI when you long click on it or hold and swipe to left. I no longer want some of the bible versions , how can I clear the memory they are occupying? - Go to the Bible Download page and long press on the "Downloaded" or "Installed" buttons to delete the installation file or uninstall the bible version respectively. Can I exit the event clock and do other things with my device? - Yes, the event clock keeps running, even after you have exit the app. You can only stop it explicitly by opening the app and click the stop button or if your device system kills the app due to power maintenance. Events abruptly stopped by the system will not be saved. Why does data backup or data restore keep failing? - We can't always know with full certainty what goes wrong. Ensure you have selected the correct Google account and have a good stable internet connection. I mistakenly erased my data , how do I get it back? - We do not store or keep any backup of your data on our own servers, so we may be of little or no help to you. If you had previously back up your data to Google Drive , then you can (a) uninstall the app. (b) reinstall the app (c) Click "yes restore" from the dialog that shows up at first launch. Why does the alarm not come on even though I have unfinished goals? - The alarm should come on every day, as long as you have unfinished "daily" goals. When it is time for the alarm, and there is no any unfinished daily goals, the alarm will determine whether it is appropriate to ring for the weekly goals; if the criteria to ring for the weekly goals is not met, it will check the criteria to ring for the monthly goals, if none is met, the alarm returns and does not ring.

Criteria - for daily goals alarm -

(1) There is one or more unfinished daily goals

(*) The alarm comes on every day if there is any unfinished daily goals for the day.

Criteria - for weekly goals alarm -

(1) There is no unfinished daily goal

(2) The current day of week(between 1-7) is directly divisible by 2 without remainder.

(*) This ensures the weekly goals alarm only rings weekly if necessary, three times only.

Criteria - for monthly goals alarm -

(1) There is no unfinished daily goal

(2) The current day of month is directly divisible by 7 without remainder.

(*) This ensures the monthly goals alarm only rings monthly if necessary ,four times only.

You will see alarm or notification normally for all of the daily, weekly, and monthly goals if any of the criteria is met.

What is BTCadence - BTCadence means BetterToday Cadence. It is a custom feature in BetterToday; it is an Anki-like feature for spaced repetition learning and active recalls. [Click to see YouTube intro]. Your study sessions in BTCadence or QBank are automatically saved in your done daily academic goals for the current date, except you disable it in the app settings.
How BTCadence works - - Active Recall: You look at a question or prompt on the front of a card, try to remember the answer from memory, and then flip the card to reveal the answer.
- Spaced Repetition: You rate how difficult the answer was to recall (e.g., hard, good, easy). The algorithm uses these ratings to schedule the card for review right before you are likely to forget it.

Just like Anki, BTCadence uses the FSRS algorithm for evaluating card scheduling.

BTCadence study materials come in packages called Tracks (equivalent to decks in Anki) Tracks are usually named as {TrackName}.btcad. Track names end with .btcad

A BTCadence track can contain one or more groups or subgroups.
A group can contain one or more groups or subgroups.
Only a subgroup can contain cards.
A subgroup cannot contain a group or another subgroup.

Each card has a front and a back. The front or back of a card can contain texts along with optional image/audio/video.
How do I create a BTCadence track? - A BTCadence track can be created using the BTCadence track builder system inside the BetterToday app by navigating to BTCadence >> Create >> Go To Track Builder.
